About Marg Penn Ph.D.

Marg PennI’ve had the privilege of helping people become more effective in their work, their relationships with people, and in choosing a stronger path forward. Those over 50 are my passion – helping them see new opportunities they never thought were possible, with more clarity and a lot more confidence.

Marg has over 25 years of coaching and consulting experience in a variety of settings including academic and corporate environments. For the last 15 years she was an Executive Consultant at PDI Ninth House (a Korn Ferry Company).

At PDI she conducted psychological assessments for both selection and development, offered workshops in leadership and management skills, facilitated team building and organizational development and coached over 200 leaders at all management levels. She held roles as a consulting team leader and practice leader for assessment and coaching in Minneapolis.

Prior to PDI Marg held leadership positions in Human Resources at two Fortune 500 companies. She was a Director of Succession Planning and Leadership Development for a major retailer and was an HR Generalist as well as overseeing an internal education function for a major aerospace and defense contractor. While working towards a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology she was a Staff Psychologist at the Student Counseling Center at the University of Minnesota.

Originally from Canada, Marg was a community college counselor and instructor in North Vancouver, B.C. prior to her relocation to the U.S. She happily became a US citizen in 2000.

Marg lives in Lino Lakes, Minnesota with a partner and a four legged menagerie consisting of two cats and a spoiled dog. When not working, Marg is loyal Twins fan and a patron of both the Guthrie and Minnesota Orchestra. An avid photographer, she practices her hobby as often as possible through international travel.
